I can teach you. If your men weren't patient enough to do so themselves then they likely weren't as skilled as they could be on the battlefield either. A battle takes patience and focus, and you never show the enemy your underbelly. That is a mistake that is liable to always get you killed.

[She only nods tiredly, knowing full well it might not just be their patience keeping them from wanting to train her. It's more likely they don't have the time, as they're more often than not leading themselves in her stead.]

[Perhaps, but in that case, it would be her job to learn what she needed in order to be a leader. Good leaders couldn't just sit behind everyone else and not help or work with them. They had to know the tactics, who all their men were, and if they didn't know something, had to be the ones to step up and take the time and learn it so it didn't backfire on those under their command.]

As I said, I can teach you. I just make no guarantees on how good I'll be at it. I've only taught men before and it's a different training style. Especially when you go back to my days.

She does raise a brow at him, and had not emptied the contents of her stomach on the way home and seen the things she had seen in the last hour or so, she might have leapt at the opportunity to gently tease him. [Whatever he is that he's feeling toward his memory of Galen makes her soften, and she nods quietly, giving him the space of a few moments to let it sink it a little before she responds.]

Considering what I went through under Galen's tutelage, I assure you that I won't laugh or think less of you as long as you make an effort.

[She gives a small smile.] So long as we don't start tomorrow, I think it'll be fine. [She already knows she's not getting any sleep tonight.]

She sets her face back in her hands again, elbows on her table and blood still spattering her clothing. The glowing patterns have finally faded away the more he's talked her down, but it still seems like she's not entirely sure what to do next. Being alone would mean being left with only her thoughts, but she couldn't expect him to waste his time here.]

You're not. I offered after all. Go get cleaned up. I'll wait here if you want so you're not alone.

[He's unreal. She keeps herself from staring at him and nods, pushing herself up from her seat and heading toward her room, eevee in tow. She does pause at the door and glances back at him before she disappears, though.]

....can I ask one more favor? [It looks like she hates to do so, but she'd rather not be handling food as she is.] Can you order pizza or Chinese or... something? My card's in the bag. .....if you'd rather not, that's okay, too.

I'll order something. Go get cleaned up.

[And he wouldn't tell her that when it arrived, he'd pay for it too. It wasn't as if he spent his money often anyway, so when she got out, the pizza would be here. Nothing spectacular or anything, but it was better then nothing.]

[It earns him a melted, but extremely grateful smile before she heads off to shower.

She makes it as quick as she can, though she does take a few moments to completely compose herself now that she feels safe enough to do so. Even if those... things come after her, she's not in Everglade. There are laws here, ones that make sense, and Styxx is just outside the door.

She takes a deep breath, then sighs heavily and shuts off the water, letting the water run over her skin for a few moments before towling off and getting dressed.

She comes back to him a few minutes later in a pair of loose fitting sweats hanging off her hips and a tank top, lacy bralett below it and all. It's nothing extravagant, but it's mostly modest. She doesn't want to make him uncomfortable in the wake of his kindness, and she's not sure she can really afford any more vulnerability herself. She makes her way over to the coffee table and grins.] Thanks... what did you pick?

[He didn't do much other then sit around and wait for the pizza, putting it on the table when it finally did arrive and getting plates.]

Safe, [she smiles, going to grab napkins to add to the pile. She pauses to look over her small liquor collection.] ... want a drink?

[He paused for a moment before answer.]

[He could probably use one right now.]

[There's a fond smile on her face as she opens up the cooler and pulls out his wine. He'll get his glass first before she goes back and starts mixing her own drink.]

Don't wait on me. I'll be there in a second. You can turn on a movie if you want.

[He thanks her but he has no intention of turning anything on other then pulling out the ipod that had come with him and turning it on.]

[She works on mixing her own drink, making it... pretty strong for the typical woman, then makes her way back into the living room to settle in on the opposite end of her couch before opening up the pizza box.] iPod? [It's been a minute since she's seen one.]
